Essential Oils

My essential oil Journey started in 2016.  I had been watching my friend’s facebook posts about Young Living Essential Oils and I was particularly intrigued when she posted a video with her kids making Immunity rollers and she talked about how her family had only been to the doctor for well checks for the last couple of years.  I wanted THAT!!!

Generally, I am in good health but, I used to get a bad cold at least once a year that would put me to bed for a few days, make me miss work and wreak havoc on my sinuses.  My whole life!  This is something we all accept, the winter crud that everyone gets.  Well let me tell you if something can improve my wellness so that I can stay healthy and productive I want it.  I mean, nobody has time to lay in bed for days with a sore nose, headache, body aches, etc.  If I am going to lay around I would rather do it on a tropical beach, thank you.

November rolled around and our little bundle of joy finally came.  I did use my oils and diffuser during labor and it helped soooo much.   As I sat couch locked cluster feeding my newborn, I realized how important it was now to get rid of as many toxins as we could in the house.  I used to be a scented candle, scented lotion, pumpkin spice in the fall everything kinda gal.  I mean who doesn’t want  all the good smells?  But deep down I knew all those synthetic fragrances and chemicals are not good for us.  I certainly didnt want my precious newborn around any of that.

I got my oil kit back out and started putting it to use!  I discovered that I had a treasure box of plant magic in little bottles that would change our lives.  Yes, they smell amazing but I had no idea that each oil has specific uses and how well they work.  I dove in with the support of my online oily Tribe and started using my oils.  I made air freshner sprays, immunity rollers for everyone in my family, linen spray, sugar scrubs, seasonal support rollers, rollers for tension in your head and more.  I slowly discovered the Thieves cleaning line and switched my cleaning products to safe ones I can use around my babe and furry kids.  I even discovered pumpkin spice concoctions for the diffuser that smell heavenly.

I have to say that nearly a year later, I have more energy than ever and thats a lot to be said with having a baby.  I have been enjoying being well and feel great about the things I am putting putting on and in our bodies as a family.  I am so greatful to my friend for sharing her oils as they have changed our lives for the better!

There are lots essential oil brands out there, why do I choose Young Living? Unfortunately essential oils are not very well regulated and some companies dont truly give you 100% essential oil.  Some mix with synthetic fragrances or other chemicals to make more money or sell cheaper and faster.  Basically to the only way to assure yourself of quality is to know and trust the company you are buying from.  I love that Young Living’s farms are open to the public.  I have yet to go but have friends who have.
